8 Hour Law Update (when combined with Federal and State Laws Affecting Iowa Practice)
 
This course is intended for Realtors preparing to become Real Estate Brokers. Participants will explore the different types of property in Iowa, governmental powers related to real property, and the various forms of encumbrances and property restrictions. The curriculum also covers leases, deeds, and methods of title vesting. Attendees will gain an understanding of agency relationships, the different types of agency, and key broker responsibilities. In addition, the course provides an overview of federal laws that impact Realtors.

PLEASE NOTE:
60 total hours in any order are required to make application for your broker license. You must have 24 months salesperson experience when you apply to the Iowa Real Estate Commission
Each course certificate is valid for 24 months from the date of completion.
Courses taken via Zoom are considered LIVE.
If taking a course via Zoom you MUST have visual and audio contact with the instructor at all times. Student is expected to be present for the class; not working, texting, driving, etc...
193E - 16.10(2) Broker pre license courses taken by a salesperson may be applied as continuing education for renewal of the salesperson license and also may be used as pre license credit to qualify for a broker license.
During a renewal period a course may be repeated for credit only if the course numbers and instructors are different.
Full-Time attendance is required to receive credit. Students who arrive late, leave early, or leave during class will not receive a certificate.
